A Slow Novel Beautifully Shown

The accents are fantastic. The costumes are perfect. The scenes are breathtaking while the make-up is superb. Richard Dreyfuss does a wonderful as Fagin. His voice is, the expression is his face and movements are all entertaining. However this film feels more like a theoretical production then anything with realism. Words are spoken without passion and actions are done but it seems mechanical without a spark. The tempo of the movie also seems to drag the movie on. Before the commercial breaks there are some interesting pen drawings.
