Understanding... I don't pretend to understand this film, as it is far too complex, but I point you to a review which gives a much more accurate interpretation of the film than either you two have managed..
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246578/ Also I will add that the directors explaination of the film (in "the philosophy of time") is really quite stupid... and should be ignored :P Instead this film is best appreciated by coming up with your own theory - as it really has no true meaning, that is one of the best parts of it. Sometimes the funnest part is trying to figure something out, not getting the answer.
