Yeah, life Nora Ephron explores the relationship of a single mother (Julie Kavner) and her two girls. We get the version of her writing that is insightful (as opposed to her "clever" movies), but it just doesn't aim that high. There's some funny situations, including a somewhat strange teen sex scene.
Watch for some Simpsons stickers later in the movie (Kavner, of course, being the voice of Marge Simpson).
