Pass it, dude This is sort of a stoner slice of life picture, with some artsy elements thrown in. The film starts off quite randomly, pretty much just introducing the characters, until it finds itself. As it went on, I went from thinking poorly of it, to admitting it had its moments, to realizing there was actually a story to tell. Why did they have to take so long to get to it?
Don't get me wrong. This isn't classic cinema. Despite all the name actors, most of the roles aren't deep enough for real performances - Alicia Witt's character being the main exception. Andy Dick often comes off as an annoyance to me, but here he plays gay pretty well - enough to convince me, at least. If you can be patient, there's some worthwhile material to find.
