Taking the Amazing Journey I would suggest watching either the Broadway “Tommy or the move “Tommy before seeing this documentary. The documentary may spoil this really wonderful rock opera. Scenes from the Broadway show, the movie, and the Hollywood fundraiser are shown along with comments from Tina Turner (who played the Acid Queen in the movie), Elton John (who sang Pinball Wizard in the movie), and Phil Collins (who song the Uncle Ernie part in the Hollywood fundraiser). I was saddened to not hear from Eric Clapton (who was in the movie) and Steve Winwood (who played Eric Clapton’s part in the Hollywood fundraiser). This documentary is also wonderful because it shows old clips from The Who’s earliest performances. If you enjoy The Who or “Tommy, I highly recommend this film.
