I saw Sexy Beast at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, and this review is reconstructed from my notes.

Okay, I don't get this one. Great, great acting (especially Ben Kingsley and I hope he gets the academy award), a fabulous soundtrack, but I can't help feeling I'm missing something. The title, while explained in the Q&A, isn't reflective of the movie - I hear what they're saying, but the sensuality is just not as important as they would make it seem. And the giant man-rabbit imported from Donnie Darko was not enough of a presence to really reflect anything back to the audience - it seems almost a justification for the title, but it probably didn't develop that way.
