The Real Shop of Horrors Thinking of Steve Martin as a dentist reminds me of “A Little Shop of Horrors, and that title rings true for Steve Martin’s character, Dr. Frank Sangster. His whole life changes when Helena Carter’s character, Susan Ivey. The story is fairly complex, and just when you think you know how it will be it changes. I find some of the odd dental and color patches for scene changes to be distracting. This movie lacks the humor, I had hoped it would have, plus the writing for Dr. Frank Sangster lacked emotion other then lust, confusion, and just regular working. A part of the ending is predictable. I feel that “Bowfinger was a better film to show Steve Martin’s talents.
