Crackling Blue Man Group Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange star in this adapatation of a William Shakespeare play. Their performances make you remember why they are such good actors despite the roles they have chosen in recent films. This movie is very visual. The director treats many of the sets like stages with meticulous attention to detail. It is one of the bard's most violent plays. This movie does not hide that violence and sometimes uses metaphor to drive the point home. There is one scene in this movie that will probably stay with me forever. At the same time, beautiful and horribly grotesque.
It is a two disc set (on DVD) and you need to block out around three hours to see the whole thing. I'd even recommend listening to one of the alternate audio tracks - the director commentary. Worth seeing if you enjoy a challenge and Shakespeare. Skip it if your idea of high drama was last week's 'the practice'.
