When Ryan Met Jennifer After the first ten or fifteen minutes of "boy and girl don't like each other but keep running into each other", beyond knowing they'd get together by the end, I also started looking for more similarities with When Harry Met Sally. By the end, I'd decided that this wasn't a conscious remake (or "retelling"), but there is definitely some spiritual influence.
This movie also continues my accidental research project into Freddie Prinze Jr, which is just to say I've been on a streak of running into him in various movies I randomly find on cable. Thankfully, there is a more distinct character here for him to play. In fact, all the characters are distinct, even though we don't see them all in depth. The real weakness is that it doesn't go quite as deep as it could.
