Goldrush with Thomas Hardy This movie is based on a novel by Thomas Hardy. Transported to a gold rush town in the west, it stars Milla Jovovich and Nastassja Kinski. The movie also has a soundtrack from Michael Nyman - who may be better known for his work with Peter Greenaway.
This movie has a slow pace and those familiar with the novel, should understand why. Hardy takes a long time to divulge the heart of his novel and this movie does as well. It has a slow first half, but it picks up in the second half. I was reminded of a colder and wintery version of Unforgiven but with some standout performances. Overall, I enjoyed the movied.
