In some ways, I like this better than The Sixth Sense, Shyamalan's previous film, but he's definitely got a style going here with slow but steadily paced scenes, swoopy camera moves, and much of the movie communicated by facial expressions.

The one sentence premise her would be - how would a superhero come into being in the real world? The idea is well thought out, and watching it unfold is an entertaining, though drawn out enough to strain patience. This is one that's probably best to have seen in an actual theater.
