Less than ordinary results It's hard to comment on a comic book adaptation without having seen the original work, but it's easy enough to see the motivation for making this film: a group of uniquely talented individuals, familiar to us in different ways, set as a period piece in a time that doesn't get the comic violence treatment. But, alas, Wild Wild West it ain't, which isn't saying much to begin with.
Despite the occasional elaborate introduction, the characters are not compelling. The plot fails to either be surprising, or anything to actually care about. There is entirely too much disbelief to suspend to get an unsatisfactory payoff. All I can say is the effects were done well, and Sean Connery continues to command attention, but all this illuminates nothing, and worse, fails to entertain less than a professional wrestling pre-game show.
