I've seen the old cartoon version of Lord of the Rings. This one just really kicks ass. :-)

The one annoying thing I noticed was the obvious CG effects when showing Hobbits with the elves, humans...and making them smaller than the rest of them. I just thought it was a bit distracting.

Aside from that, this movie really portrays the ass kicking abilities of the Fellowship. I always thought it was a bit corny in the cartoon when these 9 took on entire armies of orcs and trolls. Not to mention the dark riders.

The movie flowed very nicely. Liv Tyler is gorgeous. :-) Can't wait to see more of her in the following sequels.

I'm really hoping they show a more dramatic recollection of Gandalf's battle with the Balrog than they did in the cartoon.

It's got romance, action, drama and a bit of comedy relief in Samwise. Makes a great date movie. :-)

Now all I have to do is grow my hair out and look like Legolas to pick up chicks. heh heh heh
