What a lovely collection of performances and what wry events combine to make this little-known film a delight. This one may be a challenge to the modern attention span, but the investment is worth it. The script avoids going over-the-top but does not feel restrained, and the balance of plot lines is seemless to the point where I begin to doubt there was actually more than one. Find faults is a reach here. Perhaps some situations could have been explored more, though definitely some would have been ruined by any lingering. Perhaps the stakes could have been higher, but it's not that kind of film. I will say the poster sucks, but that's not a reflection on the film.
